Information stored on your device
Factulator stores up to 500 recent calculation expressions and results, the facts shown with those calculations, facts you save, identifiers for facts you have seen, and copies of downloaded facts. This information supports history, favorites, offline use, and fact rotation.
The app also stores advertising-consent choices, a random installation identifier, and daily cumulative interaction counts in local preferences. Factulator does not provide account-based synchronization, and Farr Out Apps cannot browse the local database on your device.
Fact service requests
For an integer result, Factulator may request matching sourced facts from a Farr Out Apps service hosted by Cloudflare. The request contains the integer value, app locale, fact identifiers to exclude, and retrieval options. The complete expression and its operands are not sent with this request.
Farr Out Apps application code does not store these fact requests or calculated values. Cloudflare may process network information, including an IP address and request metadata, to deliver, secure, and operate the service under Cloudflare’s Privacy Policy.
Anonymous product analytics
Factulator sends daily cumulative counts of calculations completed, facts saved, and facts shared after every fifth interaction. The request also contains the app version, calendar day, and a random installation identifier. It does not contain expressions, operands, results, fact text, advertising identifiers, names, email addresses, or precise location.
The service immediately converts the random installation identifier into a one-way hash and does not store the original identifier. Analytics records are used to understand aggregate feature use and app reliability. They are not linked to a Farr Out Apps account and are not used to track you across other companies’ apps or websites.
Advertising and consent
Factulator uses Google Mobile Ads to display contextual, non-personalized banner advertising. Factulator does not request Apple’s App Tracking Transparency permission and configures ad requests without publisher personalization.
Google and its partners may process information needed to provide, limit, secure, and measure ads, such as your IP address, general device and app information, coarse location inferred from an IP address, diagnostics, consent signals, and ad impressions or interactions. The exact information processed depends on your region, device settings, consent choices, and Google’s practices.
Factulator uses Google’s User Messaging Platform to present privacy choices where required. When available, you can revisit those choices from Factulator’s Settings screen. For more information, see How Google uses information from sites or apps that use its services and Google’s Privacy Policy.
Ad reports and support
If you submit an inappropriate-ad report, Farr Out Apps receives the description you enter, the available Google ad-response identifier, app version, locale, and submission time. Do not include your name, contact information, or other personal information in the description. If you open a support request, Farr Out Apps receives the information you choose to post on GitHub.
External fact sources
When you choose a source link, iOS opens a third-party website such as Wikipedia, NASA, the National Archives, IUPAC, or the SCP Wiki. That site receives the normal information associated with a web request and applies its own privacy policy. Factulator does not control those sites.
Retention and deletion
You can remove individual calculation-history and saved-fact records using the app’s controls. Deleting Factulator removes its local app database and preferences, subject to standard iOS backup behavior.
Aggregate analytics records and submitted ad reports remain on the Farr Out Apps service until they are deleted as part of service maintenance or are no longer needed for the purposes described above. Advertising providers and infrastructure providers retain information according to their own policies and legal obligations.
Children’s privacy
Factulator is not directed to children under 13, and Farr Out Apps does not knowingly collect personal information directly from children. The app is not intended for Apple’s Kids Category.
Security
Factulator relies on Apple’s application sandbox and encrypted HTTPS connections. No storage or transmission method can be guaranteed to be completely secure. Avoid entering sensitive information in an ad report or public support request.
